CEO OF AWAY JEN RUBIO JOINS AWARD-WINNING TVG HOSPITALITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Award-winning global venue group tvg hospitality is excited to confirm the addition of Jen Rubio, co-founder and CEO of Away, to their Board of Directors.

Rubio is an esteemed example for female entrepreneurs, having raised over $200 million in funding in a world where women-only teams receive just 2% of all venture capital. Widely respected by her peers, Rubio is also an active angel investor, having backed over 50 early-stage startups including brands such as Parade, Liquid Death and Madhappy, and has been featured on Forbes “World’s Most Influential CMOs” and “30 Under 30” lists, Fortune’s “40 Under 40” list and Goldman Sachs’ “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs” list among many others.

“I am thrilled to join the board of tvg,” says Rubio. “This team is passionate, talented and has already made impressive strides in the industry. The opportunity to lend my experience doing what I love—building lasting brands—in the quickly-evolving world of hospitality is exciting and inspiring.”

Additionally, tvg hospitality founder Ben Lovett shares, “I’ve been patiently waiting and hoping for Jen to join our board for a long time. She is one of the most instinctive and talented entrepreneurs I’ve ever met, the success of Away is just the tip of the iceberg. Both myself and the wider leadership team at tvg look forward to learning from Jen’s insights and experiences as we continue to build towards operating some of the best venues in the world.”

Committed to connecting culture and community, all tvg venues feature elevated hospitality offerings with local character to enhance experiences for both artists and fans. Tvg currently has one-of-a-kind destinations in Alabama and London—Southwark Quarter, Goods Way and The Social—with additional projects underway across multiple cities.

In the past two years, they’ve expanded into the United States with the award-winning Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville, AL as well as the recent acquisition of Birmingham, AL’s live music venue, Saturn. Already receiving accolades, The Orion won the 2022 Partnership in Tourism Award from the Alabama Tourism Department and Attraction of the Year from the Alabama Mountain Lakes Association. Additionally, Lovett was recently selected as one of VenuesNow’s Top 2022 All-Star Executive Honorees, which celebrates stand-out leaders across entertainment and sports. Further establishing their roots in the Alabama music scene, tvg will also support Huntsville’s historic Tip Top Café with their reopening this year. Additional details to come.
