A-TRAK UNVEILS CONTESTANTS FOR THIRD ANNUAL GOLDIE AWARDS
COMPETITORS HAILING FROM 10 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES TO COMPETE OCTOBER 17 AT BROOKLYN STEEL
Legendary DJ, label head and producer A-Trak unveils this year’s contestants for the third annual Goldie Awards, set for October 17th at Brooklyn Steel, today. Contestants will compete in two categories—the Beat Battle and DJ Battle, using any equipment they choose, putting the emphasis on raw skills and originality.
Competing in this year’s Beat Battle will be Colombia’s AstrallBass, 2018 defending champion Buck Rodgers and fellow Americans COBY, HYPEDUPREESE, Lord Drucifer and 15-year-old Moore Kismet, South Korea’s Lionclad and Sayan of France.
Competing in the DJ Battle will be Australia’s DMC and Red Bull 3Style Champ, Beast Mode, Canada’s 2018 Goldie Awards runner up, Brandan Duke the DJ and DEEJAY T-JR., America’s DJ ADMC and former DMC champion DWELLS, Singapore’s DJ Anrev, Japan’s multiple world champ DJ RENA and DMC runner up LL COOL DJ of Spain.
This year’s contestants are the most far-flung yet, with only one American in the DJ Battle and nearly half the overall competitors coming from Australia and Asia.
The 2019 Goldie Awards will be hosted by Denzel Curry and YehMe2. This year’s judges are Armand van Helden, Just Blaze, Busy P, DJ Craze, Alison Wonderland, Take A Daytrip, UNIIQU3 and Kittens.
Now in its third year, Goldie Awards is a competition for DJs and producers that recognizes the endless creative nature in music, created by quintessential cultural connector A-Trak, and presented by adidas Originals, Fool’s Gold and TMWRK.
